Wreck Your Own Adventure Newsletter 07-05-26: Weather
Greetings, Wrecking Crew,
I hope this newsletter finds you well.
Does it bore you when people talk about the weather? Okay, then scroll down a few paragraphs.
WEATHER KVETCHING BEGINS HERE
For the rest o’ youse, I’m here to share my delight that a cold front came in yesterday in the late-afternoon and scared away the nasty heat wave that was plaguing us for most of the week. I slept really well last night.
I accept that Vermont does get a few hot and humid days every year, but it’s too many for Wendo nowadays. I did not move this far north for this mishegas.
WEATHER KVETCHING ENDS HERE
Last week I lost my appetite, then got really hungry, got woozy, schvitzed bullets, hadda change my clothes twice a day, got a rash, had to replace my electrolytes a buncha times…

But I still managed to have fun now and then. Particularly on Thursday night, when I had a delightful dinner with a dear friend in Turners Falls, MA.
As we were approaching the restaurant, another friend I know from WFMU suddenly appeared on the porch and caused me much cognitive dissonance.
HE LIVES IN BROOKLYN!
What is he doing on the porch of The Rendezvous?!?
Well, he and his sweetheart, whom I also adore, were in the restaurant with their friends and they looked out the window and saw lil’ ol’ me and had to go confirm this wondrous sighting.
Schvitzy hugging commenced!
After dinner I gallivanted next door to a music venue to see one of my favorite Western MA bands play. That band is called Animal Piss, It’s Everywhere.
What luck that this show was happening on the same night as my dinner date!
I really needed to have fun, and I did.
The music was great (there were two other acts on the bill and I loved their sets, too).
I saw MANY people I like quite a lot. I made some new friends. I had fun conversations. I was handed some new CDs by a friend. I felt very good and appreciated and loved.
After the show it felt like New Orleans just outside the venue. People were smoking and laughing, the air was heavy with moisture, and at a quarter-to-midnight it was effin’ 83F. WTF, dude?!
Oh whoops. I was complaining about the weather again and I didn’t warn you.
I’m going away soon for a loooong vacation to the Pacific Northwest. I really hope it’s cold and rainy there. I love that shit.
Here’s the upcoming Wreck schedule:
