Snow Tracker Fails: Plow tracking system crashes amid record-breaking snowfall.
Cincinnati’s new snowplow tracker went offline after heavy traffic during the season’s first major snowfall on Dec. 2. Despite the outage, crews successfully cleared neighborhoods following a $1.6 million investment in equipment and digital tools. The storm set a new Dec. 2 snowfall record, with over 4 inches in the city.

Cincinnati’s police union is defending officers who deployed a K-9 during the arrest of a 16-year-old in April. Officers cited concerns the teen was armed, though charges were later dropped. Bodycam footage shows warnings were issued before the dog was used, and union leadership says protocol was followed.
Hotel Delay: Historic Fourth Street boutique conversion hits roadblock.
Plans to convert the historic George F. Otte Carpet Co. Building into a 44-room boutique hotel have stalled. Developer Blue Suede Hospitality cited unspecified challenges, despite historic tax credits and a 12-year city abatement. City officials say they remain hopeful for a productive use of the site.
Darts Downtown: Flight Club social venue set to open in Cincinnati Dec. 12.
Flight Club, a tech-enabled social darts venue, will open Friday, Dec. 12, in downtown Cincinnati’s former Saks Fifth Avenue building. The London-based concept features Victorian fairground-inspired design, craft cocktails, elevated pub fare, and seating for up to 270 guests—the largest Flight Club in North America.
