Smile Anyway [Motivation Monday]

Today’s Ambience: Open Spring Window
Good morning to everyone who is experiencing a morning right now. For us on the east coast of the USA, it’s Monday. Whatever today brings, I hope I can give your week a boost, like a good cup of coffee (or whatever you like in the morning).
It’s hard to grit your teeth and smile when the world feels against you. That goes for everyone, including artists like us. With so-called ‘AI’ being shoved down our throats, people claiming we’re disposable and replaceable, and crowded, toxic publishing industries to wrestle our way through, it can make one go ‘why bother?’.
Please, please keep bothering.
AI is a fad - remember NFTs, crytocurrency, all of that? People said it’d last forever, a lot of them the same people who claim ‘AI’ will replace artists like us. It didn’t.
But we will.
As for the publishing industry, especially self-publishing, it’s not sustainable. It will change - for the better, I hope - and we will adapt to it. Art is capable of change and growth. Machines, and corporations, aren’t.
Your art, your writing, your work, matters. Even in dark times, when you feel like giving up, it matters. It may not be obvious right now, when the night seems endless, but the sun will rise. You just have to wait for it.
Until then, keep smiling, keep hoping. Grit your teeth and keep your chin up. Help others smile, too. There’s strength and safety in numbers. That’s why people try to divide us.
Well, I’ll let you get back to your life now. I hope somehow I made you feel better. See you this Wednesday?
