Infrastructure / Markets
SpaceX IPO prices June 11 at $1.75T — AI infrastructure is now a standalone industry
Google signed a $920M/month compute deal for 110,000 Nvidia GPUs at SpaceX's Colossus facilities, inherited from the SpaceX-xAI merger. Anthropic is already paying $1.25B/month at the same sites. Combined contracted revenue: roughly $75B. SpaceX begins trading June 12 under SPCX in what would be the largest IPO in history. AEC angle: Data center construction spending passed $50B in April. SpaceX's repositioning from rocket company to AI compute landlord is another signal that the physical infrastructure behind AI is becoming AEC's fastest-growing segment. TechCrunch → TheStreet →
Pricing / Models
DeepSeek makes V4 Pro 75% price cut permanent — inference below $1/M tokens
Output tokens now $0.87 per million — 34x cheaper than GPT-5.5, 17x cheaper than Claude Opus 4.7. DeepSeek says the cut reflects genuine efficiency gains from Huawei's Ascend 950 chips, not a promotional discount. The model runs at a quarter of the compute and a tenth of the memory of its predecessor at long context. AEC angle: As frontier-quality inference drops below $1/M tokens, the cost barrier that kept smaller firms from deploying AI estimating, document review, and code compliance tools is disappearing. The question is shifting from "can we afford AI?" to "can we afford not to use it?" InfoWorld →
Adoption / Enterprise
Claude usage triples in one quarter; Anthropic launches $100M Partner Hub
Claude web visits surged 306% in Q1 2026 — from 203M to 824M — per Similarweb data. Anthropic formalized a $100M partner program for enterprise deployments with tiered standings reviewed semi-annually. With the iOS 27 Claude integration announced at WWDC, Claude is set to reach 2.2B Apple devices this fall. AEC angle: Enterprise AI adoption is accelerating past the pilot-project phase. Firms still running evaluations are watching the adoption curve pull away. Build Fast with AI →

MEP / Automation   [NEW]
Endra raises $50M Series A for AI-generated MEP design
Stockholm-based Endra, backed by a16z with participation from Notion Capital and Norrsken VC, auto-generates complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems from an architect's 3D model — code-compliant, clash-free, with full documentation output. The round follows a $20M seed. Endra targets a $150B+ global MEP consulting market constrained by human capacity to scale. One of AEC's most labor-intensive disciplines is getting a serious automation play, and investors are putting real money behind it. Finsmes → a16z →
Contech / Capital
STRABAG launches Loom Ventures — a dedicated €100M InfraTech fund
Austrian construction giant STRABAG launched Loom Ventures to invest €1M–€5M tickets in European infrastructure tech startups at Seed and Series A. The fund operates with no strategic strings — portfolio companies are not required to work with STRABAG. The team comes from Merck M Ventures and Deutsche Telekom's T.Capital. A major contractor treating contech investing as a standalone financial thesis, not innovation theater. Trending Topics →
Design / Residential   [NEW]
Drafted raises $16M to let users "vibe code" a house
YC-backed Drafted generates floor plans and 3D renderings from natural-language prompts — lot size, room count, style preferences in, complete plan out. Over 300,000 floor plans generated in the past month; a third of users are homebuyers, the rest architects, builders, and developers. Paid plan sets expected around $1,000. Consumer-facing AI design tools are a leading indicator of where professional tools are headed. SaaS News →
Watching
IPO   SpaceX pricing June 11, trading June 12 under SPCX — watch for construction/infrastructure exposure in the prospectus.
Regulation   EU AI Act enforcement begins August 2 — 55 days. High-risk AI in employment, housing, and critical infrastructure will require conformity assessments.
