MODEL RELEASE
Anthropic releases Claude Fable 5 — Mythos-class goes public
Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 yesterday, its most powerful model ever made generally available. Fable 5 shares the Mythos architecture but ships with hard safety limits. The numbers: 80.3% on SWE-Bench Pro (vs. 69.2% for Opus 4.8), first model above 90% on Hex's analytical benchmark, 1M-token context. Pricing at $10/$50 per million tokens — double Opus 4.8. Free to Pro/Max/Team/Enterprise users through June 22. AEC angle: Stripe reports compressing months of codebase migration into a single day. The implication for AEC firms running legacy Revit plugins or custom BIM automation is direct — code modernization just got dramatically cheaper. Anthropic · Simon Willison · TechCrunch
CAPITAL MARKETS
OpenAI files confidential S-1 — AI IPO pipeline hits $3.6 trillion
OpenAI confirmed its confidential S-1 filing on Sunday, joining Anthropic ($965B valuation) and SpaceX ($1.75T) in a $3.6T AI IPO pipeline. Targeting a listing as early as September at above $1T. Monthly revenue is $2B, annualized above $20B, but HSBC estimates $207B+ in additional capital needed by 2030. AEC angle: the three companies most responsible for compute and model layers that AEC AI tools depend on are all heading public. Market pressure on margins will ripple into API pricing — watch how that shifts the economics of AI estimating, design generation, and document analysis. TechCrunch · Bloomberg

China drafts $295 billion AI data center plan — 80% domestic tech mandate
Bloomberg reports China's NDRC is drafting a 2-trillion-yuan five-year plan to build a nationwide interconnected AI data center grid by 2028. State firms including China Mobile and China Telecom will operate the hubs, with at least 80% of technology from domestic suppliers like Huawei — effectively squeezing out Nvidia and AMD. AEC angle: data center builds already account for 2.3% of all US construction spending at $50B+. A parallel Chinese buildout will strain the same global supply chains for electrical equipment, cooling systems, and specialized contractors that US data center projects depend on. ACQUISITION
Bluebeam acquires mbue, expands Max AI for preconstruction
Bluebeam (Nemetschek Group) acquired mbue, a startup focused on preconstruction document workflows, alongside expanded AI capabilities in Bluebeam Max. The platform now integrates Anthropic's Claude for natural-language prompting within Revu, plus AI-REVIEW and AI-MATCH from the earlier Firmus AI acquisition for scope gap detection and drawing comparison. The Bluebeam stack is assembling fast — Claude integration, Firmus AI for review automation, now mbue for submittals. For firms already in the Bluebeam ecosystem, AI tooling is arriving inside the tool they already use, not as a separate product to adopt. Yahoo Finance · ENR
