4 witchy things I (secretly) do at work

Hey peach,

What’s up? Enjoying the lovely spring weather?

This month, I wanted to share a few witchy things I do whenever I start a new project or work with a new client. Whether you believe in energy manipulation or not, these simple things are fun, set the tone for the project, and help you jump back into it quickly each time you resume work (handy for freelance or agency writers working on multiple projects at once).

If that sounds like a bit of you, keep reading, and I shall reveal all!

4 witchy things I do for project work

1) Make a project playlist

For me, music and magic are inextricably linked. So are music and creativity. Together, they form the ultimate threesome (oi, oi)!

After I’ve read the project brief, made my notes, and grasped the tone, style, and outcomes, I spend about 15 minutes making a project playlist. Something that captures the vibe perfectly.

Not only is this a great way to explore the themes of the work, but it gives you the perfect soundtrack for writing, allowing you to use musical cues to quickly jump back into the flow. Try it; I dare ya!

2) Make a sigil for the project

I've discussed project sigils on my blog and in this newsletter, but to recap, they're magickal symbols created to serve a specific outcome.

I use the project or client aims to create a clear, positive statement in the present tense. Then, I turn that statement into a symbol using letters from the statement itself and magickal symbols that correspond to the outcome I want.

When I have something I'm pleased with, I draw it on the brief, my notes, the notebook I use for that work, and I even use it in candle magick…

3) Candle spells

Feeling ultra witchy, babe? Why not try a candle spell? Choose a colour that corresponds to the outcome you want or the themes of the work, carve your sigil into a candle, and maybe even bring some oils or herbs into play to give it some oomph (you can always stick to the colour and the sigil, though)!

Focus on the outcome you want while assembling your spell candle, then light it whenever you're working on your project.

4) Tarot card pulls

I love to use tarot as a tool in the creative process (not IN PLACE of, but AS PART of). Before client chemistry calls, I'll pull a tarot card to get the measure of a business or founder. I'll ask the cards how I should show up to help that client get the best outcome and what unseen influences or circumstances I should be aware of.

If I get stuck on a project, I'll use the cards to help prompt me or reveal the blockage and how to remove it. Be warned, though — once you start using cards in your business, you'll never go back! I've even started offering 6-card readings as a bolt-on for my Witching Hour consultation (because you just know I'm reading a person's cards before we chat)!

What do ya think? Will you give any of these a try? Hit reply and let me know.
