How to start saving for retirement as a freelancer

So I asked if anyone would like to see a Canadian version of the New York Times’ article on how freelancers can save for retirement. I didn’t expect to hear anything.

Except you did. I got several emails saying that yes, you would like to see such an article.

I’ll be honest, I was going to do it anyway because I don’t have any pensions to split when I’m older and I’m at the stage where thoughts of retirement sit at the back-middle of my mind. Except at tax time when they sit at the front.
