12 things I learned from being laid off especially if you're single
I’ve had quite a few conversations with several friends and coworkers in the last couple of weeks. They ran along these lines:
Wait, why is there a clause in this new contract/job offer that says the company can put me on furlough and it’s not considered constructive dismissal? (This addition is new as a result of the pandemic.)
My union might be going on strike and I’m not sure I have enough money.
Layoffs of the ‘get back in the office and if you want to leave because you want to work remotely, that’s cool’ type.
