But where can we go to grieve?(free event today at 1pm UK time)

Light Green background with text that reads: Tender Being with harriet. A place for all the sensitive souls. Line drawings on either side - one side is someone with mid length hair pouring a drink into a mug, the other side is a baby being held against a torso.

Hello friend,

I dont know about you, but I am noticing grief showing up in so many different strands of my life, in so many different ways.

It’s such an inevitable part of life, and yet most of us are raised in grief-phobic societies.

We only have permission to grieve in certain ways, at certain (very limited) times.

This is why I trained with Nici Harrison (and a host of other wonderful teachers) in Grief Tending earlier this year.

I learned that many societies have gathered regularly, to share their grief.

Because grief is intended to be shared.

Grief is not ours to carry alone.

Much of the grief we experience is a result of systemic failings, and the fact that we are shamed into keeping this grief behind closed doors, only allows these systems to flourish further.

The grief and disorientation of seasonal confusion due to the climate breakdown we are living through

For many of us, yesterday’s news in the UK was tough to process (even though it was the result that was anticipated).

The UK government has decided to approve Jackdaw Oil field. This is disastrous news for all of us.

I feel rage.

I feel despair.

I feel Grief.

I feel moved.

I’m holding a free space today in order for us to share our grief. both around this, around any of the other multitude of ways that elites are creating suffering whilst they rack up more money than they can ever spend.

This is a gentle, hour long space where there is the option to share, to witness and to be together as we navigate all of this, as well as all the different types of personal grief that weave through life too.

Here is the link for you to join if you’d like to (we start in one hour - sorry for the late notice)

Falling Together - A Climate Collapse Circle

I appreciate that this is very late notice, so I’ve copied below some other spaces you can access support for all of this.

  • These circles will be held monthly, so you can join the Portal Community Space to stay up to date https://community.jointheportal.com/feed

  • CPA support (1:1, cafés, circles, group sessions) https://climatepsychologyalliance.org/

  • Circles for Parents / Caregivers - https://parentsforfuture.org.uk/take-action/events/ (There is one tomorrow and myself and the team of volunteers hope to run them regularly)

Thank you for being here. Thank you for caring and being who you are.

Don’t let anyone tell you, you’re feeling too much or being too sensitive - we need sensitivity and feelings more than ever.

Warmest wishes

Harriet
