Today is the anniversary of the founding of one of the most famous National Parks in the world - Sequoia National Park - which protects the world’s largest tree, and also the highest point on mainland USA. Students may have heard of the giant trees, but probably don’t appreciate quite how big they are, or know that there are many in the UK! Take a moment to appreciate the scale of our planet, and how interlinked we have become over the ‘modern’ era - it’s incredible to think how long it took for those seeds from the 1850s to travel to the UK compared to the same journey now.
