Trust and control
Collaboration means giving up some form of control, right? If you’re collaborating, you’re letting someone else in, exploring something in a participatory manner, and hearing other people’s opinions, thoughts, and letting them take action.
It’s good to let go of that control, to allow yourself to trust your own instincts but also trust other people with things.
This has been an interesting journey for me to take when it comes to therapy.
I remember at some point last year I was in class and I said something about holding space for someone, and my tutor corrected me. We don’t hold space in person centred counselling, we give space to our clients.
