The shame of housework
Almost 1000 words on housework, plus community news!
I've been overwhelmed by housework recently. A few bad migraines, a couple of busy weeks and I'm behind. I tend to be the person who has a list of jobs that need doing in their head. My to do list lives there, as well as the larger things that need doing (the drywall in the basement needs re-doing after the electric meter was replaced, the backyard needs weeding, etc etc), so I often find myself so bogged down in the weight of what I need to do that I can't start any of it.
Interestingly, this only really happens with chores. I get overwhelmed with other things but I know how to deal with that, I go take a walk, work out a plan, check off one thing, move on.
The pattern works for me, except for with chores.
