It'll be fine

I had a breakthrough this week. I was sitting with the fact that the mistake I spoke about previously was sitting so heavily on me. It was fine, I had confirmation it was fine as well, so all is good.

But the experience really shook me, and brought up some heavy feelings. it took a while, but I've finally realised what was going on for me, and maybe this experience will help you.

I've been doing some work on shame, using resources from Carolyn Spring and while the training is aimed at helping counsellor's working with clients with trauma and change, I've found it useful to work on my own shame.

Shame feels unsafe because we (correctly) fear being cast out from our group. We need community, and shame is triggered when we do something that may lead to us being ostracised from the community.
