Gigs & Internships

Interested in motion design? Remote! Business Insider is looking for a mograph fellow to work full-time for 6 months!

Just can't get enough of those aquaculture videos. Housing included! UMaine needs an intern for the 2022 summer season.

WashPo is looking for a producer to work on Climate and Weather coverage. Could be cool, make sure you negotiate for a commuting stipend though.

If these jobs feel a little bit 5-7 years of experience ago for you, Science has been trying to hire a multimedia manager for like... four months. Completely normal, I'm sure.

Hu$tle Tips

Third Pole is accepting multimedia environmental stories on Asia's water crisis.

NPR needs a temp podcast producer. Where r my audio girlies at??

Work Smarter Not Harder

Better Note-Taking. I don't know about you, but I tend to create an entire folder of notes for longer reporting and research projects. Google Drive has always felt just... too segment-y? Enter Obsidian.md. It's the easiest wiki notetaker I've ever seen. While I still use Notion for things that require segmentation and sorting, Obsidian's link-based organization is waaaaay friendlier to large-scale research projects like investigative reporting or Dungeons and Dragons campaigns.

Better Color-Correcting. Man I was for-real using that "color picker" function to matte and then correct whatever needed touching up in curves, like a numpty, before I saw this video.

Stop Scrolling. I didn't actually hate this article from HBR on how to stop procrastinating.
