Building your vocabulary:
Kill Fee:__n. The money owed to you if your editor decides to "kill" your article/video/graphic instead of publishing. Always negotiate this up front, before signing a contract. For Example: "Hi Editor, Thank you so much for the reply! I've looked over the contract and I didn't see a clause regarding a __kill fee. Unfortunately, I've been burned before on projects where one wasn't explicitly agreed on up front, would you be open to discussing it? My usual rate is 50% of the full fee, but willing to work with you on that." This is NOT an unusual request, though the amount may vary. If they treat it as unusual, they are scamming you, sis. An email agreement over the fee is fine.

"I would, except that this is a tactic historically used by companies to underpay women and people of color. It is also illegal in many places to base salary negotiations on salary history."
Always wondered what the "Blending Mode" in After Effects/Photoshop meant? They're key to texture work, and here is probably one of the quickest and most comprehensive tutorials.
What Got Me Through Last Week:
Merch for local abortion funds! 💖Though remember that consumption is not donation, and to always donate directly for maximum impact.
