Weāre feeling especially proud this Pride. Three weeks ago we announced our idea to build a free-to-the-public digital home for intersex movement history and artifacts.
In that time, you raised over $10,000.
Consistently grateful for those believing in SLIMās workābelieving that relationships and culture are our greatest strengths.
So hereās where that goes:
Weāre still neck-deep in the fundraising phase. As we light candles for the grant invitations weāve spent spring working so hard on, every individual contribution still counts. š¤š»šÆš¤š¾
In July and August weāll be scouting illustrators, building out website updates to make sure everything is ready for writing to come, and re-starting a new round of interviews with intersex movement contributors.
And hereās whatās next:
Weāre hustling to get to the remaining 45k funding floor to power our efforts through 2026.
In the meantime, weāll be headed to interACTās 3rd annual summer youth retreat, a fully funded community building trip for new intersex leaders in their 20s. Hans is a trip co-facilitator, and Saifa joined last year as a somatic practitioner. Members of previous trip years are doing exciting organizing projects in their home states and communities, supported by their relationships with each other.
Canāt wait to see where everyone goes.

And in case you forgot, hereās the info about SLIMās core 2026 project!
Hermaphrodites Fight!: An Intersex Resistance Timeline

š KICK IN HERE! šDelivered as a free, public, digital museum hosted by SLIM, Hermaphrodites Fight! chronicles how intersex people in the United States began challenging the state-supported āmedical best practiceā of infant genitoplasty, tracking the fight through new writing, gathering community-sourced images and videos, and conducting at least 20 oral interviews with artists, scholars, and agitators of all ages, offering continuity to a population separated by shame and geographic distribution.
SLIM still has two months to raise the money needed to keep our doors open through 2026 and deliver this fall. Weāre committed to making that happen. Will you build with us?
Learn more about the project on the crowdfund page, and/or by watching our 1 minute video:
And grab a perk!
Anyone contributing $20+ will receive their very own (digital) brick. Preservation is a group project. The timelineās wall of support, made of engraved brick messages, lets everyone leave their mark.

If youāre an organization, university, or group that is interested in sponsoring this project, please hit us up by replying to this email! Weād love to discuss ways we could work with you to bring this to life, including speaking engagements or content partnerships.

Throw a brick,
Hans & Saifa
