This isn’t our regular scheduled programming but I need to tell you something.

I hyper-fixated on poetry and now I’ve accidentally written a poetry book. Oops.

Ok, it’s not quite a fully fledged book, it’s a zine. It’s called ‘Through the Window’. Ten poems. Glossy front and back cover with two scribbly illustrations by me. Poems about anything and everything, some funny, some sad (themes of alienation, childhood, grief and at least three mentions of sandwiches).

How did it come about? Well, one day I just got the itch to write a poem, despite having never written any as an adult. So I did. Then I wrote another. Then another. It was very enjoyable and at some point last year I thought, ‘Ooh, I have ten poems I actually like. That’s cool.’ So I formatted them all, grabbed two illustrations I like and made a PDF. I’ve tried not to overthink it and just do it. Design it up, get it printed, move onto the next thing. It’s all in the spirit of my year of having a go at stuff.
