  • 🍅💲On Thursday, the Michigan Senate approved $71 million of funding to continue state SNAP benefits this month amid the ongoing government shutdown, but it is uncertain whether it will pass the Republican-led House. On Friday, a federal judge ruled that the Trump administration must use $5.25 billion in contingency funds to fund SNAP for the month of November, though this amount is not enough to fully fund the program. Nationally, an estimated 2.1 million LGBTQ+ adults rely on SNAP.
