🏳️⚧️⚕️ On February 19th, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that they will stop providing gender-affirming medical care to trans people in federal prisons and will also remove access to clothing items and toiletries matching trans prisoners’ gender identities.

🏳️⚧️⚕️On February 20th, Vanderbilt University Medical Center announced that it would no longer be providing gender-affirming surgery to trans adults. Earlier in February, Primary Health Care in Iowa also ended gender-affirming trans healthcare for adults.

🏳️⚧️🎙️On Tuesday, during the State of the Union address, President Trump used this platform to continue speaking about banning transition-related care for trans youth. President Trump invited a Virginia teenager and their mother, who sued the Appomattox County School Board in 2023 over not disclosing the teen’s transgender identity.

Update to this story. Scouting America says its policies haven’t changed towards trans scouts. BUT Now they are saying they ALWAYS intended the application reflect assigned sex at birth. Clear as mud.

🏳️⚧️🏉On Friday, USA Rugby updated its eligibility policy to align with the Trump administration’s executive order seeking to curtail trans participation in sports, restricting participation in the women’s division to those assigned female at birth. An open division allows for anyone to compete regardless of gender identity, but these events will only be granted following a review process and only approved on a per-tournament basis.
