For those of you that don’t know, my name is Cielo Sunsarae, and I’m the Founder and Executive Director of The Queer Trans Project.

For five years straight, we’ve mailed 12,000 Build-a-Queer Kits containing nearly $2 million worth of gender-affirming items.

We kept going through COVID, waves of anti-trans legislation, drops in philanthropic funding, a recession, and my entire transition journey.

This year, we are combining our planned August restock with our November restock to create the largest restock in QTP history.

Our next Build-a-Queer Kit restock will take place on November 17, 2026, with more than 5,000 free gender-affirming items available.

Combining the restocks gives our team time to breathe, strengthen our programs, and create more resources for you including trans education and outreach to the greater community.

But I want to be very clear: Build-a-Queer Kits and our Travel Support program are still the core of our work. They are not going anywhere.

This isn’t the last you’ll see of us. Actually, you’ll be seeing a lot more from us—and more consistently!

The November restock will follow the same process as usual. And as always: every item will remain 100% free, including shipping; orders will be packed discreetly, and kits will be available to any trans person in need throughout the United States.
