πŸ’—πŸ’œπŸ’™ Happy #BiWeek, Cuties!

Celebrate bi, pan, and fluid pride with us, bust a few myths, and grab GLAAD graphics to share.

Dear QTP Cuties,

Happy Bi+ Awareness Week to all of our beautiful bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and bi+ cuties. πŸ’—πŸ’œπŸ’™

One of the things we love most about this community is just how intersectional we truly are.

There is no one way to be bisexual.
There is no one way to be trans.
There is no one way to be queer.

Many of us exist at the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, disability, culture, and so many other pieces of who we are.

And while bi+ people make up a huge part of the LGBTQ+ community, bisexual, pansexual, and fluid identities are still regularly erased, misunderstood, or treated as somehow less valid.

That is exactly why weeks like this matter.

πŸ’œ How did #BiWeek begin?

In 2014, GLAAD and BiNet USA helped launch the first #BiWeek to increase visibility for bisexual people and draw attention to the issues facing the broader bi+ community.

Today, Bi+ Awareness Week runs from September 16 through September 23, culminating in Celebrate Bisexuality Day, also known as Bi Visibility Day, on September 23.

But visibility should not stop when the week does.

Bi people belong.
Pan people belong.
Fluid people belong.
Trans bi+ people belong.

Exactly as they are.

GLAAD created some beautiful graphics for Bi+ Awareness Week, and they are meant to be shared!

Save one that speaks to you, post it to your profile or Story, and help fill our feeds with a little more bi+ visibility this week.

πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ’— Let’s bust a few myths about being trans + bi

For people living at the intersection of trans and bi+ identities, there can be a whole extra layer of assumptions.

Here are five we would love to retire:

MYTH #1: Bisexual means being attracted only to men and women.
Bisexuality does not require a binary understanding of gender. Bi+ people can be attracted to people across many genders.

MYTH #2: Your relationship determines your sexuality.
A bisexual person does not suddenly become straight or gay because of the person they are dating.

MYTH #3: Being trans and bisexual means you’re confused.
Gender identity and sexual orientation are different parts of who someone is. Being trans and bi+ does not make either identity less real.

MYTH #4: Bi people have it easier because they can β€œpass as straight.”
Having your identity erased or assumed away is not the same thing as acceptance.

MYTH #5: Bisexuality is a phase before someone eventually β€œchooses.”
Nope. Enough said.

🩷 More QTP resources are coming your way

We’re continuing to create practical, accessible resources to help trans people better understand and navigate gender-affirming care.

And we just released another new QTP YouTube Short!

πŸ’‰ Getting the most out of your HRT vial

Ever finish drawing your dose and notice there still seems to be testosterone left in the vial?

Our newest Short talks about getting the most out of your HRT vial and reducing medication waste.

πŸ‘‰πŸΎ Watch the HRT Vial Short on YouTube, originally shared by @cielosunsarae on Instagram, or read the full guide here.

Important: This resource is intended for people managing medication that has been prescribed to them. Do not change, skip, reduce, or otherwise alter your prescribed dose simply to build an extra supply without first talking with your healthcare provider. Follow the storage, expiration, and use instructions provided with your medication.

Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance under U.S. federal law. Do not share, sell, give away, or otherwise distribute prescription testosterone to another person. Federal law prohibits unauthorized distribution of controlled substances, and additional state laws may apply.

This content is for educational purposes and is not a substitute for individualized medical or legal advice.

And keep following along. We have even more tutorials, resources, and community education on the way.

Happy Bi+ Awareness Week, cuties.

Whether you are bi, pan, fluid, questioning, still figuring it out, or simply here to support the people you love:

You belong here. πŸ’—πŸ’œπŸ’™

With love, always.
