Hi QTP family,
Did you know that when I started the Queer Trans Project more than five years ago, I was coming out of homelessness?
At the time, I never could have imagined what QTP would become.
Since then, we’ve provided more than 12,000 free gender-affirming products to trans people, if you’ve supported QTP, you are part of that story.
Every binder, gaff, piece of tape, packer, and affirming resource we provide represents a real person getting something that can help them feel a little more at home in their body.

✨ 5 Reasons for Trans Joy This Week
There is a lot happening in the world right now. While we'll always keep showing up when our community needs us, we also want to make space for something equally important:
Trans joy. Trans wins. Trans people taking care of each other.
Here are five things we're celebrating this week:
🏳️⚧️ A win for someone who fought for binder access
Former Georgia Southern University wellness director Gemma Skuraton reached a $250,000 settlement after saying she was fired for speaking up when the university rejected a proposal to provide free chest binders to students.
Access to gender-affirming resources matters, and so do the people willing to fight for it.
❤️ A community rallied around a trans-led organization
Parivar, which supports trans South Asian immigrants in the Bay Area, was facing a serious funding crisis.
Then people showed up. Individual donors gave more than $10,000, San Francisco committed $100,000 for work the organization had already completed, and additional funding is being considered.
That's community care in action.
🎉 Three days dedicated to trans joy
The fourth annual Doll Invasion brought trans and nonbinary people together on Fire Island for three days of performances, parties, connection, and celebration.
The trans-led gathering also raised money for Queer|Art and Advocates for Trans Equality.
Because sometimes joy itself is resistance.
🏃♀️ A legal win for trans students in California
A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit challenging California's trans-inclusive school sports policies, rejecting an effort to force the state to exclude transgender students from teams consistent with their gender identity.
🗳️ Voters showed that supporting trans people isn't a losing issue
Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey overwhelmingly won his Democratic primary this week after remaining outspoken in his support for transgender people.
LGBTQ+ advocates celebrated the result as another reminder that politicians don't have to abandon our community to win elections.
Help us create the next 12,000 💛
More than 12,000 gender-affirming products have already made their way from QTP into the hands of trans people who needed them.
But our work isn't finished.
There are still people waiting for a binder they can't afford. A gaff that helps them feel more comfortable in their body. A packer, breast forms, tape, or another resource that can make an ordinary day feel a little more affirming.
And we want to keep saying yes.

Honestly, I'm extremely supportive of everything QTP does, but I've been burned by it many times. I can't ever get any resources I need, and the drop system is kinda shitty imo. Things should be available for people to at the very least purchase at a lower cost.. it's extremely difficult for me to buy any of this stuff, as it is for many other people, and I think it's wrong that it's being so gatekept. No one should have to wait months on end for the things they need. That is my only criticism of your project. It's just.. wrong to me that you'll get these peoples' hopes up only to crush them when they don't get picked to get anything they need. Really heartbreaking.
