Solitary Sentinel

Coastal India ยท landscape

A single tree stands against an endless blue โ€” the kind of composition that nature arranges perfectly without any help. Minimalism at the edge of the sea.

I walked a long way along a mostly empty shoreline to find this tree. The sand was the colour of rust, baked hard by the sun. The sky was that particular deep blue you only get in the tropics, where the atmosphere feels thinner and the light comes in unfiltered.

The tree itself was nothing special โ€” wind-bent, salt-bitten, stubbornly alive in soil that shouldn't support anything. But standing alone against all that blue, it became something else entirely. A statement. A proof that living things will grow wherever they can, regardless of the odds. I've printed this one for my own wall. It's the image I look at when I need reminding that persistence is its own kind of beauty.
