Join us this Saturday, Dec 17th as MBW welcomes back an old friend: OLD MONTAVILLAIN! It's been two long years since we brewed this big boy and he's better than ever. Our brewers start with a hefty dose of Scottish Golden Promise pale malt to give O.M. a suitable malt base. Add to that a few specialty malts for a dark fruit dynamic, spicy German Amarillo hops for flavor and you've got a stunning beer even before we barrel age it!
After fermentation, we transferred the beer into Freeland Spirits whiskey barrels and there it sat for about three months. The barrels we used were from a "Private Reserve" selection and began as red wine barrels before being filled with American whiskey. This elegant beauty exhibits notes of dark fruit, red wine grapes, anise/licorice, oak and smooth, mellow whiskey! 8% ABV - ON TAP THIS SATURDAY 12/17 @ 3PM! *limited cans coming next week as well!
