Free Jikiden Reiki Day, Ciara is Leaving on Sabbitcal & Spotlight on Cranial Osteopathy

It’s rained every day of 2026 in the UK so far... so if you’re stuck inside on another rainy day, take five minutes to decompress and enjoy our February Newsletter discussing Cranial Osteopathy and the latest Marlborough House news.  

Free Jikiden Reiki Event  

On Sunday 22nd March, Marlborough House will be hosting a Jikiden Reiki Open Day from 12:00–17:30, led by highly experienced Jikiden Reiki teacher Amanda Jayne. The day is a chance to learn more about this traditional Japanese approach to Reiki, hear Amanda give a talk on its history, how it is used, and her own journey with the practice, and to ask any questions you may have. Throughout the afternoon, our practitioner, Liz Truman, and a team of 5–6  other Jikiden Reiki practitioners will be offering free 30‑minute taster sessions, working in pairs to provide a deeply nurturing experience in a short time. There are 10 bookable taster slots, with some availability likely on the day, and treatments will resume after Amanda’s talk for those who wish to try Jikiden Reiki for themselves. Burnout to Balance: 2026 is The Year of Recovery

2025 really was the year of pushing ourselves to the limit. Trends in fitness and health focused on optimising routines, supplement stacking and hybrid style (cardio and weight lifting) training, all in the pursuit of hitting personal bests and pushing your body to a new level.

We doubled our creatine scoops, loaded up on electrolytes, faced a new hell in wall balls at Hyrox classes, and chased every possible physical milestone. It was exciting, energising, and for many of us… exhausting. Some of us are now nursing injuries, while others simply feel burned out and done with the relentless, 'push harder' approach to fitness and wellbeing that often doesn't fit into a busy professional life.

Firstly, let’s look at cortisol. What is it and how does it affect your body? 

Cortisol is your body’s primary stress hormone that is produced in the adrenal glands (located above your kidneys).
