Then this newsletter is for you. We discuss the reality of living in Canada. We’ll discuss the reality of living in the US. We explore what else is out there. Engage with us and join the discussion. Share your experiences and resources. We examine relevant resources and news stories. We review the countless consultants out there. Let’s figure this out together. It’s a big world out there.
“Flag Theory” used to be synonymous with “perpetual traveler”—evading paying your “fair share” (what malarkey) and shirking your “civic duty”(There’s 101 ways to skin that cat). nowadays, are there ways to plant multiple flags and yet still settle down? In other words, must you be a total nomad to practice flag theory?
We’re going to challenge some assumptions, and hopefully poke holes in some of the myths surrounding flag theory and jurisdictional arbitrage. Myths like “the only reasons people move are to avoid paying taxes and to shirk their civic duty”. In short, there are plenty of legitimate reasons for wanting to live somewhere other than one’s home country. We're not going to let the haters shame us.
