Lowfalutin

A newsletter about brand strategy and related topics.

Related topics have included things like why advertising’s no fun (and no good) anymore, one career with four trajectories, cool metaphors, student jobs, some books that made me better, the unhappy endings of two client/agency relationships, and stalking Yanis Varoufakis.

This is the most read and most widely shared edition: “It helps if you know what you’re doing” (lessons from five years of independent consulting). I have mixed feelings about it. Lots of people subscribed on the back of it but never opened another email.

I post every two or three weeks in a lowfalutin style.

Lowfalutin is a slightly pretentious way of saying unpretentious. It’s less falutin than hifalutin, but a bit more falutin than nofalutin.

(Nofalutin sounds like a Big Pharma trademark don’t you think?)

Talking of which, Lowfalutin® is my very own, I’m-a-big-boy-now, registered trademark.

Here are all the past editions.
