Discover : What Emergence Reveals
Discovering subtle shifts in life, reflecting on hopeful parts of self, and preparing for a season of renewal.
Welcome here,
You’ve leaned in, engaged, and adapted.
Now we reach D — Discover, where what has been quietly growing in the past few weeks begins to show itself in ways.
Discovery after emergence is subtle — as we see a shift in light, brighter earlier in the morning and a stretch in the evening light, the energy in the house changes.
When we consider the wider more than human world we can feel the wider world breathing with us —
our nervous system syncing with morning light,
our families adjusting their rhythm,
the land itself encouraging a slower rise.
Sometimes discovery is simply realising:
“I’m not where I was last month.”
Let the discoveries be small.
Small things often carry the most honest magic.
So this month in Discover I offer another poem, here I have an excerpt. You can access the full poem, and please do here
“The Lake Isle of Innisfree” By W.B. Yeats (excerpt)
I will arise and go now,
and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there,
of clay and wattles made…
And I shall have some peace there,
for peace comes dropping slow…
I hear emergence here in Yeats words — the slow drop of peace returning.
As you read this drop in these questions for reflection, IFS (Internal Family Systems) style!
Which part of me feels hopeful this month? What is it noticing?
Which part still feels cautious or unsure? How can I sit beside it?
What small moment made me feel “more like myself” recently?
What is emerging in those closest to me — a new interest, a mood, a rhythm?
How might our family honour what is beginning to grow?
A Glimpse Ahead
Next month, we return to “L” and lean in to our next seasonal theme — carrying these new beginnings with us towards renewal and reconnection.
Before you close this email, take a breath for yourself, and a breath for those closest to you —
not to rush with hopes or plans, but to bloom in our own strange, beautiful timing.
May you discover what is quietly rising within you.
May you honour beginnings that unfold slowly.
And may the ladybird step into the first warmth of the year, reminding us that emergence is simply the courage to come into the light.
