Fruit Pajamas
Hi Bestie!!
The item of the summer (a made-up concept!) is a pair of fruit pajamas. You need them for lounging. For sitting in front of the mobile AC unit. For when you get home from the Rockaways at 4 p.m. but can't reasonably wear an old teal Batman shirt and a pair of basketball shorts because you'll probably pop a frozen pizza in the oven later and go to bed around midnight, not six. For watching Netflix because a hurricane has finally arrived, and not the remnants. (More on that, coming soon.)
I decided this at Fiona Fest in July because two of us had fruit pajamas. However, this was already a trend on TikTok. That pair is sold out but I found the same print from a different brand on Amazon, which is SHEIN and Temu now. (Available in S-XL; yet another brand has it with long pants in S-L.)
Your life needs whimsy, so I found sets for us to wear. Gender is a construct but that's how a lot of these were labeled. My research indicates only women get to enjoy whimsy when it comes to sleepwear.
Women's Pajamas:
This pair from Walmart started it all, with oranges and a navy background. Yes, of course, I want the cherries, too. Sizes M-XL, cherries S-XL.
This pair from JCP is the other pair and features papayas, kiwi, pineapples, and dragonfruit. S-XXL. (Also comes in plus size! 1X-3X.)
This pair from Old Navy has citrus fruits, though two of us are bitter because our size is sold out. XS, 3X, 4X.
From Target and not sold in stores, these sets have indistinguishable berries and citruses. SM and M.
Cuddl Duds, who made my favorite leggings, has a Hollywod-esque pattern featuring pineapple, watermelon, flamingos, palms, and sunglasses. (I guess it's Florida?) They call the pattern "Summer Graphic" by Macy's calls it "Black Novelty." Both offer S-XL but availability varies.
Kate Spade has a set of "Strawberry Patch" pajamas with pants. XS, S, L, XL. For shorts, this pair is black and white striped with berries. XS, L, XL. Also watermelons, for a pullover top. XS, S, M, L, XL.
Even more cherries, from Joe Boxer. S-L. Bananas, too! S-XL.
I've never heard of Vianahos but they have a tomato set. S-XL. Same sitch for Kafiloe! M-XL. And returning to Wal-Mart, a pull-over top set. S-4X.
Several options from Seyurigaoka, who made last year's viral set: this "floral" set featuring tomatoes and spicy peppers (S-XL), cherries (S-L), and a silk set with champagne bottles, which is spiritually adjacent (S-XL) and in my cart.
There is a lot on Amazon, so hold on to your butt, and know that I haven't verified the quality of these brands: Tomatoes (S-XXL), FIGS! (also: strawberries, cherries in silk, and oranges – S-XL), lemons (and also PEARS, S-XL) in a "beach vacation" style, pineapples (S-XL; dark background or pink in XXL) and pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins.

This drawstring pull-over set has TURKEYS on it, which I've been in pursuit of for a LONG time. From Amazon, of course. (The pickle print comes in S-XXL.)
Old Navy's Match the Fam pajamas feature PUMPKIN PIE. Tragically sold out, but I am hopeful for a sweet seasonal return.
Men's sets:
This set from MeUndies features neon mushrooms. S-4X. (Mushrooms are not a fruit.)
Tomatoes from Grizz, which I haven't heard of. Note the top is a pullover! S-2XL.
Another pullover (this time a V-neck) featuring cucumbers on a vine on Amazon. S-XXL.
Pants — and only one pair:
Cherries from Urban Outfitters! S-L.
Kind of disappointed that while many children's brands feature fruit, Primary does not.
Dribs and Drabs
I am now identifying as a tomato girl.
