A Successful CONington

This past weekend I attended CONington just across the river in Covington Kentucky. I was at my table in Leapin Lizard for most of the event so I didn’t get to wander around, but I heard 300 people had fun gaming, questing, and shopping. And I got to wear my new helmet and surcoat! I hope it looks sufficiently fantasy-y? We’ll see. Hopefully it’ll be even bigger and better next year.

Also next week I have my Statistics final exam and hopefully, hopefully, the workload will decrease a little bit. Maybe. I’m also trying to reduce how much overtime I’m working so maybe I won’t feel quite so exhausted.

Upcoming Events

So I don’t have anything for May scheduled but I am planning on visiting my friend Magpie at the Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire on Saturday May 9th. SIRF is also running weekends through May and I don’t know about y’all but Ohio Ren Faire has gotten crowded so I’m hoping this’ll be a much smaller faire. If I remember I’ll give you a status update.

Big Ohio Book Con

This is the big one, the first weekend of June, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th in Medina, Ohio. I’m going to be at table Yellow 9 this year and I’m hoping to get a lot of people excited about our good friends Bundersnoot and Silas. This is a ticketed event so if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet be sure to get them here.

Chicago Steampunk Exposition

I’ve been to CSE multiple times but this will be my first time as a vendor. No panels from me this year but hopefully I’ll have time and energy to put panels together for next year. CSE is going to be June 12th-14th this year which means the first half of June is going to be very busy month for me. If you’re looking for something cool to do in June, check out their website.

After that things will settle down until September but I’m keeping my eyes peeled for other events. And not to worry, I am still working on other writings, just rather slowly. I hope you’re all doing well.

Your friend in books and trains,

— Kalpar
