Jeanne's Strawberry Moon 2021 Update

Jeanne's Strawberry Moon 2021 Update

Tonight the 'Strawberry Moon' will rise in the night sky. It feels like one quick blink and the fifteen months since my last TinyLetter update has disappeared to wherever pandemic/quarantine time goes.

I hope you and yours have navigated the choppy waters of the pandemic. Fingers crossed for us all to soon realize the promise of more time outside our homes.

I kept waiting to have something exciting to tell you about - and suddenly I have two anthologies to announce in the same week. Definitely a clear sign it was time for a newsletter.

Joining Forces

First, the anthology that is already out. My story from Rhonda Parrish's F is for Fairy is being reprinted in the anthology Joining Forces. This is my first ever resale!

Here is the blurb to give you a sense of the theme:

Collaboration and cooperation often get us further in life than solely working on our own with no input. Two or more heads are better than one when it comes to solving the problems of the universe.

If you already have F is for Fairy, then you won't get a new story from me in this, but the table of contents looks fantastic.

G is for Ghosts

In October 2021, the next of the Alphabet Anthologies from Rhonda Parrish is being released. I love the story I wrote for G is for Ghosts and can't wait for you to get a chance to read it and try to figure out what "K" stands for.

Photography

I have continued to take photographs throughout the pandemic. I have focused more on nature and flowers than in prior years. It probably has something to do with my not having been walking around my local city much since March 2020!

Here are three photos from Spring/Early Summer 2021. These are all now up on RedBubble alongside many more in my main shop.

This beautiful red and peach Dahlia grew in a container on my deck.

Slightly further afield, an afternoon walk in our neighborhood in March gave me the chance to snap this magical image of algae and autumn leaves. I love how it captures a burgeoning sense of springtime's potential and forward motion - of swallowing and sweeping things aside at the same time.

This photograph of milkweed blossoms was taken in a broad field in Maryland in June of 2021. I was so pleased by the intricacy and colors of the flowers.

As always, if there is a photograph of mine on Instagram that you want to put on RedBubble stuff - just drop me a note and I will set it up for you!

Thank you for your continued interest in my creative ventures!
