Jeanne's Spring 2020 Update: Pandemic Edition
Jeanne's Spring 2020 Update: Pandemic Edition
As we all struggle to wrap our heads around our new pandemic reality, I wanted to share a few things with you via this elegant technology that is the internet.
Photographs
First - a photo from my yard taken this week:
I may be taking my photos closer to home than usual (I haven't been into my office in Washington, DC since March 11th), but one of the awesome things about macro photography is that there is still so much to photograph within a safe walk from my house.I have some items for sale over on RedBubble, including the image above, and some cool metal posters over on Displate. We are all spending so much more time in our homes - seems like a perfect opportunity to bring more outdoor beauty indoors.
Free Pandemic Distractions
I channeled some of my "how can I help from in my house" energy into creating a curated list of free online resources for learning, creating, exploring, and distracting. You can find it here: http://pandemicdistractions.com/. It is not meant to be exhaustive, but it should point you towards a lot of quality resources - including many that may be available via your public library card. If you don't have one already, check out your local public library's website because many will let you get a library card number online.Zoom Backgrounds

As we all explore ways to stay in touch, both personally and professionally, Zoom and other video chat options are becoming part of daily life. Many of these tools will let you customize your backgrounds. A few of my Nature and Burning Man photos make great backdrops. You can find the example above (taken in a park in Warsaw, Poland during a trip in 2014) and more here: https://jeanne.smugmug.com/Zoom-Backgrounds/
For those of you with video background support in Zoom, I have a few fun multi-color background videos for you to try out, like this one:
Quarantine: A Short Story
Did you ever read my story "Quarantine"? I wrote it back in 2018 - and it is set during a pandemic. It is not a flu pandemic, but it still feels a bit surreal to have created it.You can read it online for free: http://www.jeannekramersmyth.com/quarantine/
2020 Calendar Discounted
Finally - my photo calendar is still available and Lulu still seems to be in business printing and sending things to people. I have discounted it 25% since we are 1/4 through with 2020.
If you act fast, you can save an additional 20% on your order with the code: LULU20. This code is case sensitive and expires April 2nd at Midnight.
Thank you for your continued interest in my creative ventures!
