Jeanne's Summer 2023 Update: A New Short Story

I am pleased to announce that my newest story, ‘Of Celestial Calendars and the Escape Velocity of Friendship‘, is included in the latest Brave New Girls anthology -- and it is available now! The Brave New Girls anthology books are published as a fundraiser to benefit the Society of Women Engineers scholarship fund. Aimed at YA and Middle-Grade readers, the stories are still great fun for adults who enjoy sci-fi stories of girls finding ways to use STEM to save the day.

This is the fantastic illustration, created by Kay Wrenn, that is featured alongside my story in the anthology:

For those of you who read my prior story in Brave New Girls: Stories of Girls Who Science and Scheme, 'The 17th Quadrennial Intergalactic Neo-Cultural Expo and Science Fair', this new story also takes place in the world of the Magellan Intergalactic Boarding School. I love that you can see Magellan's space station in the background of this illustration.

I hope your summer is treating you well - and that you might consider a copy of Brave New Girls to add to your summer reading or as a gift to a young reader in your life!

Thank you for your continued interest in my creative ventures.

Jeanne
