FLUKE, Comics, and March... Gladness! :)

The Peepers… They’re peeping! It must be Spring!!

Yeah, that’s right, it’s finally Spring! Yippee! I’ve always thought this was the best time of the year. I’m especially excited to be kicking off the best time of the year with…

FLUKE!

I’m tabling at FLUKE this weekend! Sounds like it ought to be a great time. Just for this show, I did a small run of reprints of Slasher Bunny!

Yeah, it’s all actually pink!

I was planning on keeping Slasher Bunny out of print until I was ready to finish it, but lately people have been asking me about it, and in my spare time I’ve been doing a bit of thumbnailing for the next installment. Of course, finishing the first chapter of Inoscularum still takes priority right now, and I’m still really hoping to have the pages doge by sometime this summer. But it’s nice to have some side projects to work on in my downtime.

I also printed some spiffy new business cards!

I got some cool sheets of green cardstock at the Scrap Exchange and fed it through my printer, thankfully without incident. I like these a lot more than my old ones, which I kind of just threw together and printed on regular paper.

INOSCULARUM UPDATES

an in-progress page of inoscularum

I recently passed the halfway point in inking the pages for chapter 1! Once I’m done with the inks, all I’ll have left to do is gray tones (which is what I’m also doing the backgrounds in), then scanning and cleaning up the pages. Then it’ll be ready to print! I’ve also been thumbnailing the pages for chapter 2, and I’m really excited to break ground on that one. I feel like I’ve learned so much in the process of making this first chapter that this next one is just like, wow. I’m “really cooking,” if I do say so myself!

OTHER STUFF

I recently did some babysitting for my in-laws’ cat, Lola. I scribbled out a few short comics about our adventures together…

comic 1 about babysitting Lola
comic 2 about babysitting Lola
comic 3 about baysitting Lola
comic 4 about babysitting Lola (the shocking conclusion)

CRITTER OF THE MONTH!

Virginia Opossum

March’s Critter of the Month is the Virginia Opossum! Despite their name, they can be found in various places all over North America! The first time I ever saw an Opossum in person was late one night at an ihop. It was just walking around on this brick wall in front of the window I was seated next to, and it looked like a little muppet. I’ve loved them ever since.

SONG OF THE MONTH

The song of the month is Tam Lin, as performed by Fairport Convention! There’s nothing like the Vernal Equinox to make me want to bust out all of my folk rock faves, and Tam Lin is definitely one of them. I like songs that tell stories, I guess!
