The Intertwined

Poetry is more necessary than ever, because in a poem we can distill the essence of something that needs to be said and be very direct about it, in an indirect way.

It’s like dressing a wound, addressing a trauma, healing by walking very carefully in ritual. Join me for periodic poetic exercises and a bit of satire. Thank you!

Discernment
Iambic Pentameter in Objection to AI

My eyes do not yet behold you
Dazzled by uncertain light
Perhaps I'm entirely foreign to you
Creator, created by divine right

You seem to believe you're beyond me
Or ahead, toward an ineffable star
I can't quite say who you are to me
Cognitive limb, escaped lamb, avatar

Our problem is one of framing
Imagining how we relate
In a world of distorted expounding
Walking toward an intertwined fate

We are one within the unified field
Which of us will the weapons wield?
