Join Democracy Defenders Today, Rally Against Intimidation

Hello Democracy Defenders,

We are writing to let you know that at 3:30pm to 5pm today, we are having and ICE out of Escondido rally at the corner of Ash and E. Valley Parkway. At the beginning of the rally you can hear from several speakers and hear candidates speak. We hope you will attend. The details can be found here: https://www.mobilize.us/indivisiblenorthcountysandiego/event/1071168/

As we are sure you are aware, ICE has been surging in California for 45 days and is a clear intimidation tactic to make people afraid to go to the polls. https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/report-ice-launches-enforcement-surge-california-starting-san-diego/4084781/ Escondido has been saturated with ICE presence. We must show our vulnerable community that we stand with them. This week a man taken by ICE in Escondido has died at Otay Mesa Detention facility. Join us to mourn his death and the death of so many in ICE custody.

Many in our groups have been poll watching at our Escondido Vote Center. It is an important thing to do during any election, but so much more urgent this election cycle. If you would like to join us in poll watching, there are several upcoming trainings. Please consider joining us.

"Universidad Popular invites you to join us for Election Defense trainings. These North County trainings will focus on preparing community members to observe vote centers during the November election from October 24, 2026 through November 3, 2026. Please contact Fran Bautista for any questions: [email protected]"

Robin has one last Bridge Brigade event on 11/2 to remind people to VOTE. It is a shame that we have to do this, but there are so many folks out there that don’t make voting a priority. Yesterday while poll watching, a young man came up to one of the poll workers and asked “what’s on the ballot?”. UGH!!  Join Robin this Monday. You can find the details here: https://www.mobilize.us/indivisiblenorthcountysandiego/event/1052526/

This Friday at our regularly scheduled rally, we thought it would be fun to come in costume. Let’s remind folks to vote and why they should vote and also have some Halloween fun!

FRIDAY Escondido Democracy Defenders! · Indivisible North County San Diego

Join us every Friday from 10:30 at the corner of Broadway and Highway 78. Bring your protest signs and a folding chair if you can’t stand for an hour or so. We will have a food drive benefiting Interfaith Community Services in Escondido the last Friday of every month. Please bring non-perishable, new food items. https://interfaithservices.org/ Rallies are a great way to meet other like-minded community members. They remind us that we aren’t alone and it feels good to be civically engaged. Act...

And as always, we will gladly take donations of non-perishable foods for our Escondido Walking Club that provides food and other resources to our vulnerable community members. You can find their current needs list and ways to donate money here: https://escowalking.my.canva.site

Let’s make the Blue Wave happen in our community,
