Future Events
- Wednesday, September 11, 2019, 6:00 PM: Escondido City Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025
- Thursday, September 12, 5:30 - 7:30 PM: Our Changing Climate Series: A Bold New Transportation Vision in 5 Big Moves, a presentation by SANDAG, at Vista Public Library, 700 Eucalyptus Ave, Vista, CA 92084.
- Friday, September 20 Global Climate Walkout. Millions of youth across 150 countries have been leading #FridaysforFuture school walkouts and strikes to demand a sustainable, livable future for their generation. Now, youth are calling on the rest of us to join them by standing together in a worldwide climate strike.
Transportation and Climate
- Read-up on SANDAG’s Board of Directors Meeting Agenda which includes item #8 on a proposed funding plan for the next five fiscal years focused on implementing the Five Big Moves along 11 key corridors in the region. The proposed funding plan includes road projects, transit, and active transportation. This is an important meeting for all to weigh in if we want a workable transportation system for the future.
- Contact Mayor McNamara, Escondido’s SANDAG representative, and let him know you support the 5 Big Moves and urge his support for the funding plan.
