Clean Water Access
- Read-up on ‘All of a sudden it’s undrinkable’: why an entire US city has no clean water, Looking back at the Flint water crisis, eight years on, A Growing Drinking Water Crisis Threatens American Cities and Towns and Mississippi Crisis Highlights Climate Threat to Drinking Water Nationwide.
- Contact Representative Issa, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass legislation and provide more funding to ensure more access to clean water such as S.2086 last introduced in 2019 to “help ensure drinking water across the USA is safe from lead and copper contamination”.
Reproductive Rights
- Read-up on Reconsidering a pre-Roe abortion service in the post-Roe era and For years, teens came to Nashville to ask for a judge’s permission to get abortions instead of telling their parents. That’s done, leaving ‘zero options.’
- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass legislation such as H.R.8373 to “codify access to contraception into federal law” and H.R.8296 to codify abortion rights. Note that Representative Issa voted no on H.R.8373/H.R.8296 (and had previously praised the overturn of Roe vs. Wade and also voted against codifying abortion rights) but H.R.8373/H.R.8296 passed the House.
