EscInd: Weekly Action Plan for October 22, 2018
Welcome to Escondido Indivisible’s weekly ACTION plan for October 22, 2018! It’s less than 16 days until the General Election. Every action, every vote will count!
- Monday, October 22, 2018 is the last day to register to vote! You can register at registertovote.ca.gov. After October 22, you can conditional register at the County Registrar of Voters office, 5600 Overland Ave, San Diego, CA 92123.
- If you’re a registered vote-by-mail voter, ballots have been mailed so check your mails!
- If you’re a regular registered voter, early voting has begun: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM at the County Registrar of Voters office, 5600 Overland Ave, San Diego, CA 92123.
- Make a voting plan! Voters, who have a plan to vote, vote in much higher numbers. Please figure out when you will sit down and fill out your mail-in or sample ballot. If you are mailing, decide when you will get it done and sent. If you are going to the polls, decide now what time of day and plan for it! EVERY VOTE WILL COUNT!!! EVERY VOTE MATTERS.

Wednesday
- Read-up on Army Expelled 500 Immigrant Recruits In 1 Year.
- Comment on U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ proposed rule to retroactively prohibit citizenship for green card holders who had ever used SNAP food stamps, Medicaid, or a whole array of other social services. Public comments end December 10, 2018. Thursday

- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to support H.R.6545 which re-authorizes the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The VAWA was only re-authorized to December 7, 2018. See Pass the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2018.
