Homelessness
- Read-up on Fletcher Says City Budgets Need to Prioritize Homelessness & San Diego County’s Got a New Homelessness Plan. Note that Escondido is only of the cities who didn’t apply for the “recent $10 million grant program to fund new homeless shelters, safe parking lots, safe camping lots and other homeless facilities” due to concerns about how to continue to fund operations. But Escondido didn’t state how feasible a short-term operation may be needed to address immediate needs.
- Contact the Escondido City Council and ask the city to apply for the County’s $10 million grant program to create a Safe Parking Program similar to Encinitas and a Homeless Outreach and Mobile Engagement similar to La Mesa to address the immediate needs of the community.
