Welcome to Escondido Indivisible’s weekly action plan for October 26, 2020! Early voting has started and mail ballots went out on Oct. 5th to all registered voters. Check Where’s My Ballot. We are 8 days away from Election Day. Early voting turnout for San Diego County is at 36%. 2016 total turnout was 81.46%. Go vote! Stay safe and healthy!

  • Tuesday, October 27, 2020, 9:00 AM: Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting via teleconference.  Live broadcast of the meeting will be at sandiegocounty.gov here  Agenda includes item #03 on SDC COVID-19 response update and #18 on increased citizen oversight board review power of police conduct. Public comments may be made via eComment service or via email to publiccomment@sdcounty.ca.gov. See Voice Your Opinion.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, 6:00 PM:  Escondido City Council Meeting via teleconference. Agenda includes item #9 on economic update. Live broadcast of the meeting will be at escondido.org here.  Public comments may be made via Public Comment Form.

Election

  • Vote! Mail ballots went out on Oct. 5th. Early in-person voting has also started on Oct. 5, 2020: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday starting Oct. 5 at the Registrar’s office and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31 through Monday, Nov. 2 at your assigned polling place or the Registrar’s office. County Citizen Oversight of Police Conduct
  • Comment on Item #18 on Citizens’ Law Enforcement Review Board Ordinance And Rules Update and express support for increasing the citizen oversight of police conduct and granting the citizen review board the power without receiving a citizen complaint to investigate incidents involving firearm discharge and use of force.

Local COVID-19 Response

Family Separation and Inhumane Treatment & Torture of Asylum Seekers
