EscInd: Weekly Action Plan for November 5, 2018
This is it!!! Election Day is this Tuesday, November 6, 2018! Escondido Indivisible was formed almost 2 years ago. This is one of the first chances that we have had to really impact and save our city, region, state, and democracy! PLEASE volunteer for something over the next two days! All of our candidates need support. Every action, every vote will count!
🗳️If you missed the voter registration deadline, you can conditional register at the County Registrar of Voters office, 5600 Overland Ave, San Diego, CA 92123.
🗳️If you’re busy Tuesday, you can vote vote early Monday, from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM at the County Registrar of Voters office, 5600 Overland Ave, San Diego, CA 92123.
🗳️If you’re voting on Tuesday, Election Day, find your polling place here. Polls open from 7:00 AM-8:00 PM (if you’re in line by 8:00 PM, you’ll be able to vote).
🗳️For mail ballots, you can drop them off at these mail ballot drop-off locations or at your polling place on Election Day.

- Make a plan to vote. If you haven’t voted yet, take a few moments to ask yourself a few simple questions to make sure you’re ready:

Tuesday

Wednesday
- Comment on U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ proposed rule to retroactively prohibit citizenship for green card holders who had ever used SNAP food stamps, Medicaid, or a whole array of other social services. Public comments end December 10, 2018. Thursday
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to support H.R.6545 which re-authorizes the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The VAWA was only re-authorized to December 7, 2018. See Pass the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2018.
Friday
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to support H.R.2282 which “amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity among the prohibited categories of discrimination or segregation in places of public accommodation”.
