EscInd: Weekly Action Plan for Nov. 2, 2020
Welcome to Escondido Indivisible’s weekly action plan for November 2, 2020! Tuesday is Election Day. If you’re eligible to vote and have not voted yet, please plan to vote! Polls open Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at your assigned polling place or the Registrar’s office. Drop off your mail ballot or vote in-person.
Remember every vote counts! We’re at 58% early voting turnout in San Diego County so far (~1.1 million mail ballots received out of ~1.9 million registered voters). 2016 total turnout was 81.46% and 2008 was 83.72%. Stay safe and healthy and vote!

Election

- If you’re eligible to vote but are not registered to vote, you can still go and cast a provisional ballot at your assigned polling place or the Registrar’s office.
- If you encounter any irregularities while voting, including voting intimidation, you can contact the Registrar’s office or California Secretary of State's Voter Complaint.
Escondido Campaign Finance Reforms
- Read-up on Escondido City Council votes to reduce campaign contribution limits.
- Contact Mayor McNamara and the City Council and express approval for the 3-1 vote reducing the campaign contribution limits. Ask them to consider putting forth a more robust conflict of interests policy to ask city council members to recuse themselves from voting on a donor’s development project or proposal, for example.

- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Harris and express support for additional COVID-19 relief proposed by the HEROES Act and for continued funding of testing and tracing.
