Escondido Election & Campaign Finance Reforms
- Read-up on North County Report: Where Voters Landed (Hint: All Over the Place!) and Election 2020: Escondido council will have a conservative majority once again.
- Comment on Item #11 of the City Council Agenda on adoption of campaign contribution limit reduction and reiterate support for adopting a policy to lower the campaign contribution limits ($1,000 for city council candidates and $1,700 for mayor or city treasurer candidates). Ask them to consider putting forth a more robust conflict of interests policy such as asking city council members to recuse themself from voting on a donor’s development project or proposal. - Contact Mayor McNamara and the City Council and reiterate support for adopting a policy to lower the campaign contribution limits. Note that City Council Morasco voted no against the proposed campaign reforms.
San Diego County Collaboration with ICE
