- Read-up on Voters In 50th Congressional District Seek Balance In A Representative & Congressional District 50: Rep. Duncan Hunter's campaign finance issues have drawn plenty of challengers.
Tuesday
- Read-up on The Farm Bill's SNAP Work Requirements in Rural Areas: A Republican Plan Could Worsen Rural America's Food Crisis.
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to vote no on H.R.2 which “impose[s] even stricter work requirements on SNAP recipients”. See Republicans Are Trying to Sneak Through Cuts to Food Assistance.
Wednesday
- Read-up on Border Report: After a Perilous Journey, the Migrant Caravan Arrives and In Tijuana, Migrants Seeking Asylum In The U.S. Tell Harrowing Stories Of Crisis.
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to co-sponsor H.Res.774 which attempts to bring a a DACA solution for a vote. See Update on DACA and the Dream Act.
Thursday
- Contact Assemblymember Waldron and ask her to support SB-1346 which would ban bump stocks. The bill passed the State Senate 26-8 and is in the Assembly for review. State Senator Anderson voted no again. See CA StateStrong Newsletter.
- Contact State Senator Anderson and ask him to support AB-2103 which requires a minimum of 8 hours live training to get a concealed carry permit; current policy only specified between 1-16 hours. The pill passed the State Assembly 57-20 and is in the Senate for review. Assemblymember Waldron voted no. From Moms Demand Action: “Hi, I’m [name] and I’m a constituent from [city]. I'm calling on behalf of Moms Demand Action. I would love to see California join the other 25 states that require live fire training for a concealed carry permit.
