Voting Plan
- Read-up on CalMatters' California Election 2022 Voter Guide, San Diego Primary Election Guide, KPBS & Voter Edge Voter Hub, and San Diego Election Information, including Your Sample Ballot. California Primary Election will be on June 7, 2022.
- Check your voting registration status and updated district information, and register to vote if you’re eligible and not registered.
- Plan to vote. Mail ballots have been mailed to all voters and can be dropped off at any postal offices or Ballot Drop Box Locations starting May 9th to June 7th (closed May 30th), including Escondido Public Library, Major Market at Center Parkway, Oakmont of Escondido Hills, Champagne Village, and Rincon del Diablo Municipal Water District. Check your voting registration or Where’s My Ballot to track your ballot.
- For in-person voting, the following Vote Center Locations will be open from May 28 to June 6, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Election Day, June 7, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. In Escondido: Westfield North County Community Room from May 28 to June 6 and Central Elementary School Family Resource Room, Girl Scouts Escondido Center, and Park Avenue Community Center Oak Room from June 4 to June 7.

Escondido Budget

Gun Violence

- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass legislation addressing gun violence like H.R.8/S.529 and H.R.1446 to expand background checks for gun purchases and S. 736/H.R. 1108 to reinstate the ban on assault weapons. Senators Feinstein and Padilla are co-sponsors of S.529, and Senator Feinstein of S. 736. Note that Representative Issa voted no on H.R.8 & HR.1446 but both bills passed the House. Racial Justice

- Contact State Senator Jones and ask him to support AB-1630 to strengthen the Vulnerable Defendant’s Right to a Fair Trial, ensure “due process for defendants deemed incompetent to stand trial and [put] a stop to one of the ways individuals with mental illness are cycled through the criminal legal system instead of receiving adequate treatment.” Note that Assemblymember Waldron had voted no on AB-1630.
