Escondido Budget
- Read-up on Escondido Again Considers Tax Increase to Solve Budget Woes.
- Complete Escondido City’s survey on “local community priorities and City service needs” for the budget as the city is facing “an $8 million budget gap” and call for more funding to community-based programs and services.

Voting Plan
- Read-up on CalMatters' California Election 2022 Voter Guide and San Diego Election Information. California Primary Election will be on June 7, 2022 (~37 days away).
- Check your voting registration status and updated district information, and register to vote if you’re eligible and not registered.
- Plan to vote. Mail ballots will be mailed to all voters starting May 9th and can be dropped off at any postal offices or Ballot Drop Box Locations starting May 9th to June 7th (closed May 30th), including Escondido Public Library, Major Market at Center Parkway, Oakmont of Escondido Hills, Champagne Village, and Rincon del Diablo Municipal Water District.
- For in-person voting, the following Vote Center Locations will be open from May 28 to June 6, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Election Day, June 7, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. In Escondido: Westfield North County Community Room from May 28 to June 6 and Central Elementary School Family Resource Room, Girl Scouts Escondido Center, and Park Avenue Community Center Oak Room from June 4 to June 7.
Democracy & Voting Rights

- Contact Assemblymember Waldron and State Senator Jones and ask them to support AB-1819 to prevent “corporations with foreign ownership” from election contributions. See About AB 1819: Money Out Voters In.
- Contact Representative Issa, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and urge them to pass legislation to restore and strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965 such as the amended H.R.5314, H.R.4/S.4, H.R.1/S.1 and S.2747. Note that Representative Issa voted no on H.R.5314, H.R.1 & H.R.4 which passed the House but was blocked in the Senate. See Support Democracy Reform with Voting Rights Protections.
COVID-19 Response & Recovery
- Read-up on San Diego County ID policy makes vaccinating the undocumented harder.
- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to support S.3726 which funds research on long COVID-19. Ask for more funding to provide free testing, vaccination and treatment for COVID-19 and aid for the global pandemic response. See Va. Sen. Tim Kaine still has long covid symptoms, introduces bill to research the phenomenon.
