- Contact Supervisor Gaspar and Board of Supervisors and express your concerns about the county’s intention to accelerate plans for re-opening San Diego County. From the LA Times: “San Diego has the second highest number of coronavirus cases among the state's 58 counties and the third most deaths.” We are not ready for an accelerated re-opening of our county. We should follow California’s directive and plan to reopen California and with stricter public health measures specific to San Diego County as necessary to contain the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure that workers do not, for example, unnecessarily risk their safety without protective gears such as face masks and gloves provided by their employers.
- Note that in 7 days from May 10th to May 16th, San Diego County had 910 new positive cases, 149 new hospitalization cases, 35 new intensive care cases and 34 new death cases. We’ve reached 209 total death cases this week (6.3 per 100k), and 5,836 total positive cases or 176.7 per 100,000 population.
