Escondido City Council District 2 
  • Read-up on Escondido council vacancy to be filled by appointment; plus a catfish controversy. Choice quote: “The Escondido City Council will appoint a replacement to fill the District 2 seat vacated earlier this month when Councilman John Masson died following a lengthy illness. // The new council member will serve only until the November election at which point a special election will decide who should fill out the remaining two years of Masson’s term.”
Census 2020
  • Share info about Census 2020: What Is the 2020 Census?, Ways To Respond, Questions Asked and Sample questionnaire in English and Spanish/Español.
  • Take the Census 2020 if you have already received an official invitation from the Census Bureau (invitations started being mail mid-March). 
COVID-19 Local Response
  • Read-up on County OKs Moratorium On Evictions For Residents, Small Businesses, Newsom orders California coronavirus eviction ban and Coronavirus mortgage relief: Banks act fast for unemployment.
  • Contact Supervisor Gaspar and thank her again for putting forward an eviction moratorium during COVID-19 crisis. Tell her that the county should consider mortgage and rent relief as well.
  • Contact Escondido City Council and ask them to consider eviction, foreclosure, mortgage and rent relief for the city.
