Escondido Redistricting
  • Read-up on New voting districts drawn for Escondido and Escondido approves new electoral map.
Escondido Budget
  • Attend The Escondido Discussion (on the City Budget and Service Priority) at East Valley Community Center, 2245 E Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92027 on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, 6:00 PM.
  • Complete Escondido City’s survey on “local community priorities and City service needs” for the budget as the city is facing “an $8 million budget gap” and call for more funding to community-based programs and services. 
COVID-19 Response
  • Read-up on Free COVID-19 tests ending for uninsured Americans.
  • Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to support S.3726 which funds research on long COVID-19. Ask for more funding to provide free testing, vaccination and treatment for COVID-19. See Va. Sen. Tim Kaine still has long COVID symptoms, introduces bill to research the phenomenon.
Housing & Economic Recovery
  • Read-up on Tenants' rights group calls for extension of California rental assistance program and California bill would extend rent relief, eviction protection.
  • Contact Assemblymember Waldron and State Senator Jones and ask them to pass legislation to extend California's Emergency Rental Assistance beyond the March 31, 2022 deadline. Ask them to pass AB-2179 which would “move the date on which landlords may initiate eviction proceedings from April 1 to July 1” though not “not change the March 31 deadline to apply for rental assistance”.
